Laura E. Vein is a native of Grand Forks, ND, and recent resident of Charleston, SC. Currently, she lives in Southwest Texas where she photographs, designs & blogs. She holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Graphic Design + New Art Media from the University of North Dakota and a certificate in Baking & Pastry from the Culinary Institute of Charleston at Trident Technical College.
Previously, Laura has worked as a graphic designer & photographer for the University of North Dakota Wellness Center. She also conceptualized, developed, marketed & taught an award-winning series called "Sweet Treats" at the University of North Dakota Wellness Center's Culinary Corner demonstration kitchen. Most recently, Laura developed and taught various baking & pastry courses at the Culinary Institute of Charleston at Trident Technical College and worked as an assistant for Helene Dujardin, nationally acclaimed food photographer/stylist & creator of the blog"Tartelette".
Laura started this blog, "Sweet Treats," in the fall of 2009 as a way to merge her love of photography, design, and pastry. And, of course, as an excuse to bake more (though her culinary skills are not limited to pastry)!
